About Me

Welcome! So glad you stopped by.

My name is Rachael – I’m a 20-something Texan making a life in the wonderful city of Austin, TX.

By profession, I’m a PR gal rockin’ the tech world, but I’m a writer by passion. I’ve always loved words (writing them, reading them, and if we’re being honest, speaking them), and am continually impressed with the impact that a well-written story can have, and the intense bond it can create between both good friends and strangers. Finding a way to create those connections through my own writing has been something I’ve wanted to do since I could hold a pencil (I have some childhood stories that can attest to that fact).

And that brings us to this little blog of mine.

I started blogging in 2011, in a huge transitory period of my life – I had recently graduated from college (Hook ‘Em Horns), I was learning how to live as an adult (both professionally and financially), and on top of all that, I was internally coping with the death of my mom earlier that year.  Sure, parts of the period were really exciting, but it was a difficult time in my life to say the least, and I was in search of a way to combat the stress and emotion I was feeling in the real world – like many, I let the stresses of my life get me down.

One Fine Day is my reminder that life is not as bad as it may seem sometimes – for every bad moment, there is always something awesome to make it better. Seriously.

I absolutely love to smile (some would say it’s my favorite), and I crave the people, food, and experiences that can put a stinkin’ huge grin on my face for hours on end. This blog is a shout-out to those things that inspire and bring out true happiness. Plus, there’s already enough negativity in the world…let’s talk about the good stuff instead.

Take a look around – I sure hope you’ll stay awhile!
