I Love Birthdays (and Presents).

I love my birthday. It’s true.

I love that there is one day out of the year that is entirely dedicated to the celebration of my life.  I love having one day where I can make all of the decisions.  I love being able to eat cupcakes and ice cream without feeling guilty.  I love presents.  But most of all, I love that December 9 is MY day!

Anyone who knows me, knows that my birthday is a process.  The countdown begins at least 2 months before the big day and I always try to find fun things to do to celebrate the day of.  Since this is my first year “as an adult”, I felt I should celebrate my birthday in some adult-like fashion.  So, I will be taking a birthday trip to Albuquerque, NM.  Why go to Albuquerque, you ask?  Why not?  I’ve never been to Albuquerque and it’s something different…plus, I’ve heard some great things.  Stay tuned for several birthday trip themed posts to come in mid-December.

Until then, it’s time for the birthday prep.  With all the madness of the real world, I have somehow let my birthday countdown get away from me.  But, I’m regaining control – we are officially 18 days away from my 23rd year of life and I couldn’t be more excited. Thanks to my new obsession Pinterest (this is a post for another day), I’ve been scoping out presents now for awhile and I thought I would share some of the top birthday present contenders.  Links are all on my Pinterest boards. Feel free to buy me whichever one most speaks to you :)

Pink Blazer from Zara

The long-coveted pink blazer from Zara. If you can find this, you win.

Gold Link Necklace

Beautiful long necklace

Sequin Patterned Skirt

A pattern and style that is so unlike me...which is why it's so great!

OPI Matte Nail Laquer in Russian Navy

OPI Matte Nail Laquer in Russian Navy, $8.50; I absolutely LOVE the way this polish looks on

I know most of these are completely unrealistic for a present.  I would never actually expect someone to spend this kind of money on me – but hey, a girl can dream, right?
