A Sushi Roll After My Own Heart.

I don’t know who decided it would be a good idea to wrap raw fish in rice and veggies and call it a treat, but THANK YOU!  Sushi is another one of those foods that I just can’t seem to get enough of. Yellowtail, tuna, salmon, eel – it’s all delicious to me.  If only sushi weren’t so expensive, I would eat it every day.

This evening, I finally gave in to all of my sushi cravings and went to dinner at Sushi Zushi.  Let me tell you, this sushi is well worth the price (ranges from $10-$16).  There are over 90 rolls on the menu, each of which looks more appetizing than the last.  As delicious as the restaurant is, it’s hell for an indecisive person like myself – I want them all! After much going back and forth, I finally decided on the Urban Roll – yellowtail, cream cheese and jalapeno rolled uramaki style (with the rice on the outside) and then tempura fried.

To put it plainly, the Urban Roll was delicious.  I’m usually a bit wary of rolls that are completely tempura fried because the fry can overpower the rest of the flavors, but I didn’t find it overpowering today.  The jalapenos added just enough spice to make my mouth tingle, but it was balanced out nicely by the cream cheese.  And for only $10.50, I’d recommend the Urban Roll to any level of sushi-eater.  It provided enough variety for the experienced “sushi-er”, but had flavors that were simple enough for a sushi newbie to try.

I left Sushi Zushi feeling comfortably full and knowing that I made a dinner choice that both my stomach and my wallet could appreciate.
